"Sorry," Pip murmured as soon as he saw the flinch, multicolored eyes slightly round with muted concern. He hadn't really considered that it might have been startling for him to reach out so suddenly, and chastised himself for it, though it was a bit late to do much good for them now. Holding his paw here was the most Pip could do until someone with more experience arrived, which the pup hoped was soon. He didn't know how long someone could live with these kinds of wounds, and he didn't know how long they'd already been crawling here with them, so to say he was relieved when Rosemary came would be an understatement. Obediently, he pulled his paw away and stepped back, mouth dry when he glanced down at his white paw, now stained red and creating an uncomfortable sensation when he put it on the ground. Still, he ignored it resolutely, and remained near his aunt, waiting for her command, gaze dropping when the stranger spoke to Rosemary in such a- a flirtatious way.
"I don't know a Des, I'm sorry, but as she said, you are free to stay here." Someone he hadn't met before spoke something unfamiliar, before offering what Pip couldn't. Desperado? That person must have been around when he wasn't allowed out, so again, he lowered his stare, saying nothing further.
