Pip hadn't been alive for too long, not like his parents, but in his four months, he was incredibly sincere in everything that he did, whether he was merely offering a few words of encouragement or physically assisting however he was able. It wasn't even that the pup was unaware of the ability to be duplicitous. There were times he had felt tempted to present himself differently than how he truly was, but he'd never given into it. Most of the people he knew where his siblings, anyway, and he was content to let their personalities speak louder, rather than attempt to mimic their exuberance. Content. Yes, that was accurate- he was content to simply be, instead of going through the effort of creating an image he wouldn't be able to maintain for long. He really wasn't much of a liar about that sort of thing, or an actor.
That didn't mean he had a lack of willingness to change. He was young, not dumb. Pip knew he wasn't perfect, and thinking about his parents- well, they'd been around a while in comparison to him, and he didn't think they were exactly the same as they'd been when they were kids. Even though it was strange to think about them as children.
He would like to have them around right now, because they were adults, and they could help somehow. Instead, it was just Pip and another boy, who had called for a medic but wasn't doing anything else. The mixed canine determinedly approached the crawling stranger, who seemed too stubborn to stop. Blood had to stay inside the body, where it belonged, and they were losing it. Obviously an infinite amount of blood wasn't real. "You can stop moving now- it'll be okay. I have to put my paw over that, though." Without another word, the pup attempted to press his white paw over the neck wound, like how to stop water leaking. It worked the same, right? It didn't feel the same, and he swallowed, looking away from the red staining his fur, except the sensation was still there.
