as love filled night gives way to day
Deus, this entire interaction was a trainwreck. Hazel wasn't great with strangers at the moment, but she knew a rude apprentice when she heard one. (Which seemed hypocritical, considering she was technically still of fireball age.) Onison's complaints drew her towards the scene, Arion in tow. The last stranger Hazel met had her cautious and hesitant, but this was of different context - context that had the cocoa feline frowning, frustration with the headstrong fireball apparent in her expression.
Oni was already on his way back to camp by the time Hazel actually made it to the group, and her reprimand was ready on her tongue and pebbles of rhodochrosite and peruvian opal trailing in her wake. But she decided better of it, thinking she might address his manners when it wasn't so public. In fact, she might not need to; it certainly wasn't her place, but Oni had plenty of people that would get on his case in her stead. Gritting her teeth, Hazel shook her head, letting out a short sigh that felt like it was supposed to relieve the frustration in her chest. "I'm sure the others have apologized, but I'll say sorry, too - we're usually much more welcoming than that." She bit her lip. "Some people have more pent up energy after a recent experience, so..." Hazel trailed off, reminding herself that it might be unwise to mention the observatory's malfunction to a newcomer.
"And although this is no longer applicable to you, we don't have an automatic acceptance system. Name and business first, and as long as you're not lying through your teeth about who you are, then you're free to join us. Just...for future reference." Hazel shrugged, subtly sliding her paw over the small stone of rose quartz. Auto acceptance was the liberty of being able to waltz into a clan without any prerequisites - at least, that was the definition to Hazel. "I'm Hazel."
