[align=center][div style="width:50%; text-align: justify"]Zachariah had always imagined supernatural creatures being all hush-hush about their afflictions. He'd never have once thought that he'd end up listening to some cat-boy in a bodysuit explain his mutations, live amongst a gaggle of vampires, or share a space with an alleged werewolf. He supposes that, in both his and Adrien's case, it's difficult to hide what they are, but Kade and Marissa both look absolutely normal. In fact, not too long ago, Zachariah had thought he was the only one in the world like this. Turns out he was very, very wrong. "Don't leave the vampires out," he chimes.
"Be careful not to squeeze too hard. Don't want to rip a finger off." His warning is followed by a mirthless laugh. He may sound like he's joking - or at the very least trying to be - but it wouldn't be the first time someone's shaken parts of his hand off. Zachariah is careful to withdraw his hand as gently as possible, so as not to drop any pieces of himself. Especially since he had offered the hand bearing his wedding ring for Kade to shake. If he were to walk away without it, he'd certainly be distraught.
Again, the child clad in leather cuts him off. Adrien's quip doesn't warrant much more than a roll of the eyes. He gets it, he's decomposing - there's only so many times the joke can be made before it stops being funny. "I'll pull the arm off myself an' beat you with it," he threatens vapidly. "Careful bendin' down. Don't wanna tear your gimp suit." He can't see at all how that outfit is practical, but to be fair, Zachariah has never worn a skin-tight leather suit, so he wouldn't know.
Kade's offer is touching and all, however there's not much that can be done about his situation. Compared to the rest of his body, his arms look as though they can be fixed with a smooch and a Hello Kitty band-aid. There's no way he can save his lower half at this point - he should have died quite a while ago, but here he is, waltzing around the town as if he's in tip-top shape. "Nah, don't worry 'bout that, hon. It's alright. You should tell me that story later, though." He hopes she's going to tell him about how she took down a bunch of corrupt politicians. He doesn't know what else corruption would be referring to.
