I wrote this two days ao at 4 am so there's gonna be errors and bad sentences but uhh
what do ya think? :-)
Start of Caer's joining thread:
Genuine worry was painted across the three-legged tabby's face. She looked like she had just run over to the scene, chest heaving as her breath came out in haggard puffs. "Who? Who's after you, Caera?"
Caera woke up with a start, a ragged bundle of dark fur huddled in the corner of a small, empty white room. It was always the same after the child woke up from that dream - a rush of panic and adrenaline causing her to jump to her paws, body shaking from some unknown fear, and the urge to call out for the feline whose name was just on the tip of her tongue. Those things were all easy to get used to after the first month, but the feeling of hopelessness and being lost was never something she was able to get used to, or something she thought she would ever get used to. Her entire being seemed to crumble in on itself - why couldn't she remember who that tabby was? The thought of the feline left her heart breaking inside of her chest, so obviously she was important. Yet whenever she tried to remember the girl, or anything about her past, she couldn't come up with anything specific or that answered her questions. She hated this place and how hopeless it made her feel.
"Daddy... You brought me here to keep me away from pain! Locking me up and forcing me to see these dreams is only hurting me!" The sheep-dog hybrid had hobbled over to the wooden door and was now screaming at it, even though she knew no one would help her. Her father, the King of Purgatory, had killed off her mortal body months ago and brought her down to purgatory with him. He had said it was to protect her, as he couldn't stand watching his daughter go through so much pain needlessly, and that he had no other choice. The first month she had stayed in this room, doing whatever she could to get him to take her back up to Earth where her "family" was. The tantrums only added to her sentence and it was three months before she was let out to roam the endless white hallways of Purgatory. There, she began to complete her duties as a Monster of Purgatory, bringing horrible fears to life and tormenting the souls trapped behind the wooden doors that lined the hallways. When she stepped out of line, Caera wound up in the same room as when she first arrived, dreaming the same harrowing dream that she always did. She would scream and scream to be let out of this mind-numbing loop, but nothing fruitful ever came out of it. To the Monsters roaming the halls, she was just another cry for mercy added onto the countless others asking for the same.
