"DUPLICATE" DIMITRI
Dimitri seemed to deflate a little as he was told the news, ears flicking down and- his mouth opening, trying to find words.
Dimitri, I’m sorry- I wanted to tell you. He bared his teeth, mouth opening and closing and- ”Oh- Oh. I see. I-“ he tried to stand to leave and felt his legs wobble. He made a sound like he was gagging, then gasped, fur turning white and eyes a deep red.
”Oh no- Dimitri- no-“ He turned around as if he was searching for him, then settled on Atbash. Donovan’s ears flicked back and his white tail tucked- he felt like he just been thrown into control. He shook himself, looking at her and panting.
He imagined Dimitri wouldn’t be coming out for a while. Worst case? The tom split. He worried if this would destabilize them, and betted it probably would. Who would they get? What it be another prosecutor?
"Atbash... it isn’t your fault, okay? It’s mine. I- we need to go. Dimitri will be... out for a while. I think. Don’t blame yourself.”
