Food was a rather touchy subject for Jiyu when infant animals were around or whenever someone with a perfectly happy go lucky view of the world happened to be standing nearby. While most cats ate rabbits like the one Sayon was chowing down on or some other normal form of prey? The calico consumed others of her own species or as close as she could get, cannibalistic. It was already very suspicious if someone did not want to eat with everyone else, but if someone sat with everyone who was eating and refused to eat after that things became far more suspicious. Thus, Jiyu tended to stay away at meal time, avoiding the situation was much more inconspicuous than just sitting there without eating. However, this was not some meal that was planned by another, this was Sayon suddenly seeming to need some sort of snack. In this situation, not eating was nowhere near suspicious.

"Don't choke yourself, eat slowly." the calico spoke the comment smoothly in her cold voice, empty optics fixing to the scene. Jiyu was going to stick around, in the rush Sayon seemed to be in she didn't completely trust the child to keep himself safe while eating and she could not imagine how crushed Sola would be if one of her offspring choked to death on a rabbit. Supervision was her best course of action here.
