henri found that his days were vastly improved by the presence of a letter from caesar. he never really had anything to look forward to besides his meals and naps, so the added bonus of a letter from somebody like caesar sparked something within him. he read over the letter, having it been delivered to by the bird- so caesar was trying to become captain? henri smiled at the thought. henri and caesar had vastly different goals- henri wanted to see the true corruption that the clans represented, while caesar wanted to control it.
after finishing reading the letter, henri grinned. "that settles it then- i'm going to go visit. come with me, i'll need somebody to navigate," he said in a sing-song voice to his slave bird, packing up a few things and then leaving in the morning. if he did his math right, he'd be there by nightfall. he began to recognize the scents and feelings of certain things as he went, starting to path out the exact road he'd take to go between clans. he'd have to, if he didn't want this to be his last visit.
henri was an intelligent man, and so he was right- he arrived by nightfall. this time, he didn't fall into the ocean and kept going on the railroad. now he was in unfamiliar territory, although the bird knew where to go since he had visited caesar a few times already. henri wore a dark cloak to hide his features, secured by a purple gemstone brooch. the cloak was his father's, but henri thought it was awfully gaudy- still, he'd wear it to protect being seen.
here he was. in front of caesar's room. the door was closed, and henri could feel himself sweating bullets. was this the first time he had ever felt so panicked, yet ready for whatever was to come? he took a deep, shaky breath.
henri knocked on the door, making sure to be gentle. "hey, officer ceasar. i've come to visit."
