his words entered her ears and she remained silent. she was an awful liar. she knew she was. she hated how it felt to lie, but if this was what she had to do, she would. the girl listened as he explained the consequences, tensing a bit more. this was all her fault, somehow. if her family got hurt it would be all her fault. she needed to make sure she did everything right.
but then, he brought up his true plan and her breath stopped. he was going to kill deldrach? she needed to stop him from doing that somehow, but she couldn't do that yet. she couldn't do that now. she needed to help somehow. she needed to find a way that wouldn't lead to anyone else being injured. she couldn't figure out how yet, though. now wasn't the time. the pain flowed through her and she couldn't come up with anything properly anyway.
