Alexander didn't know how to "properly" react in most situations. Where there would normally be an action you were left with the child essentially pulling a malfunctioning Windows computer, frozen in place and if you looked closely, you could see the Blue Screen of Death in his eyes. His strategy mostly was to simply stare at the problem or the thing until it went away, and he wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. Sometimes that worked, sometimes it didn't.

In this case, he supposed there was nothing else to do, even for someone who had a grip on the concept of reacting accordingly.

He'd only been hunting, a rabbit in his jaws for anyone else to eat, he wasn't hungry. That's when he saw it, of course, he was out on his own and that's when all the strange things happened. Something caught his eye and when he turned, just down in the line of trees where he was sure this fresh corpse had darted out from. Silvery white, legs longer than his body surely, staring him down with a sense of intimidation. Some...equine, was it? He'd seen a horse only once, believed he belonged to Hazel. But in the wild? Never. Except maybe...

Maybe once on his journey away from here. He blinked, and the creature made a run for it. Smelled something, maybe.
