if beck never died as a child, he would grow up still a street rat but manage to drag himself from the slums and possibly have a family of his own. he still would be executed though
and while i wouldnt say becks completely okay with terrible things, hes numb to everything awful out in the world because hes experienced it so much and its natural to him
