Malkyn, on the other hand, liked the mud. Maybe not for its smell and definitely not for the sticky feeling it left on her but it kept her blended in, it kept her smelling like the Earth and territory around her, grounding her to the here and now, to reality. Of which she needed more of, if she was being honest. The ungodly screaming of the bird catches her attention, aggressively tipping her head and flattening ears against her head, a faint growl coming from her throat. Faint clicking is heard around the group until Malkyn pulls herself from the depths of the murky waters as she approaches the others, her head lifting up to follow the sound of flapping wings.
Birds aren't her favorite food, too many feathers, too little meat. And they spooked far too easily for the hellhound to really get close enough to them to warrant the energy spent. Plus, with her at five foot tall, birds rarely were anything but a crumb. Her head shifts back to stare blankly in the direction of everyone else, clicking stopping temporarily as everyone's footsteps stopped. "Superficial interactions rarely do anything for external matters." She comments offhandedly, a vague frown slipping over her face. She didn't like going somewhere just to say 'hi, how are you', she didn't like the hi-bye things with people. Granted, she also didn't like opening up to people but that was a different matter. "But manners are manners."
