Cry? Crystal? Bluebell? Snowflake? She went by a lot of names (even more than she could think of). Fine. She'll play his game. She offered him a smile, opened her beak with a audible gasp of breath, and spoke: No.
She didn't give her name out to just anyone. Names were powerful and she was no fool. Even Atbash and Izuku (and Jacob but she still hated him) had to work for her name and backstory. What made this gryphon so special that he didn't get the same treatment? Those that knew her name either worked for it or got lucky when someone else told them.
