"Where d'ya think you're going, Valo?" Beck prided himself on his apparent ability to know what everyone was doing at any time -- of course, thanks to a bad habit of lurking and stalking after those with more interesting things to do than him. It was a fact of life that people would disobey orders, he was a rebellious little brat himself. He wasn't surprised in the least, especially considering the culprit was Valo-kas. Clicking exposed molars together as he stalked from his previous position among bramble thickets, the poltergeist shook thorns from his matted flanks and lazily snickered out teasing words, "Guess one dead mutant ain't gonna scare another into common sense." What was the point of trying to control Valo's unpredictable actions. His frigid paws halted a distance away from the oozing feline, unsure if he wanted to ask about the contents of the basket.
"S'pose ya can go off to do, uh, whatever, but only if..." he paused for dramatic tension, sharklike fangs biting down on his lower lip in a taunting half-grin, ".. ya got a buddy." Valo-kas couldn't possibly get into trouble or maybe toxic, radioactive waste if they had a perfectly-responsible poltergeist keeping an eye on them. But Beck was only volunteering because he was looking for any excuse to escape the stuffy camp and strict clanmates.
