Okay honestly, isn't repetitive better than chaotic? People are always so bored these days — ah, he's starting to sound like Gabriel. Do something productive, get out in the world. Comportarse. That and a sharp slap to the back of his head would usually do it, but not many kids his age were as poorly socialized as the thirteen year old practically glued to the older man's side. Too many weird looks for the scars on his face, too many people looking at Gabe like he was some kinda monster. Nobody had ever told him but he can guess at what they think. Green eyes stick to the sidewalk for the most part, though he can still feel their attention prickling at the back of his neck. At least this way they don't get to see the way his teeth grind. Today's one of the easier days, at least.
The street is somewhat quiet, with little shops that have him slowing his stride to wait until his dad's done looking in the windows. Little things, usually, but this one's taken him a while. The smells of the bakery caught his eye too, but, as always, it wanders. This time to a stranger who taps along the street for a moment, then gets back to walking. Lazarus takes a few slow steps towards them, quiet despite his size, which is admittedly a little more than it should be for a thirteen year old boy.
It's not malicious, really it's not. Curiosity, maybe. A silent interest. Truth be told, he'd never really met a blind person before. Whatever it was that started him moving, with one confused glance back at his adopted dad, he finds himself (intentionally) set halfway in front of their path. Just to see what will happen.
