[font=trebuchet ms]Overhead, the skies were shrouded in thick, ink-black clouds, lined with occasional streaks of orange and red from the setting sun.

Were it not for the lack of vibrations in the ground beneath him, Paper would have wondered if another tsunami- or any sort of natural disaster- was on its way. Indeed, the jungle was oddly silent, minus the sounds of his own pawsteps, and an occasional rustling behind him.

Each time his good ear picked up the rustling, he turned his head and craned his neck to see behind him, but each time he was met with nothing. He could not smell any predators within the now-familiar stench of brine and dead fish, either. All his nose could pick up that was out of the ordinary was a light smell of ozone and rain. Most likely, a storm was coming, but he had a feeling that something else was... off besides that.

He probably ought to start heading back before the storm arrived, but he had enough time to locate a few more reconstruction supplies. There ought to be at least one decently-sized fallen branch out here, or some vines to use for tying things together.

Upon entering a clearing, however, Paper halted. Before him was the jungle temple- he didn’t think he’d come this far, but now that he was here, he doubted he could return to Barracuda Bay before it started raining. The rain itself couldn’t stop him from traveling, but as on-edge as he was, he wasn’t about to take his chances with the lightning.

With a sigh, he walked up to the temple and entered it, then sat underneath the ceiling to think. Maybe there was something in here he could utilize...
