She was just like Washington, both in where they came from and their overall attitude. They were both control freaks, forcing people to bend to their every rule and order. He got sick of it pretty quickly. Though of course his dislike for Freelancers was universal, and even if he didn't know them on a personal level, he'd still automatically distrust any of them he came across. They were the whole reason everything with Tex happened, and maybe even then some. In the end, it was possible he was just pushing the blame on them because he felt like it was all his fault that Tex turned out the way she did.
That night, as the storm raged outside, he stayed curled up in his room. He usually didn't sleep in the Observatory, but he also didn't want to be alone when the storm hit, so he decided to hole up there and stake it out. He wasn't nervous about storms, but he didn't like them, either. They always had the chance to spiral out of control and cause chaos. Really, the only reason he wasn't asleep was because of the lightning and thunder.
The canine grumbled under his breath, pulling the covers tighter around his head, wincing as a particularly bad strike of lightning hit nearby. He was tired, especially since he had had trouble sleeping lately. But even so, he found it hard to sleep with all the commotion. So, giving in, he slipped out of the bed and made his way out into the hall, hoping the storm would pass soon.
He listens to the faint sound of his pawsteps as he walks, somewhat overpowered by the sounds outside. Shadows dance across the wall and his form almost looks ghastly as it moves with him. The building was dark, illuminated only by strokes of lightning. However, he quickly noticed the pair ahead, his approach faltering as he studied them to see who it was. Then he recognized the armor of Washington, and he could only guess who the other was. His nose immediately scrunches up.
This seemed pretty suspicious. Church was careful as he grew closer, frowning as he wondered just what the hell they were up to. He wasn't about to follow them out into the rain, though. That was leaving himself way too open. Instead he watches them from the doorway, squinting warily.
