With the absence of Blue and the rest of her sisters, Delta found herself more comfortable in the territory - since mammal prey came in smaller sizes than they evolved for, working as a team to hunt down a single boar occasionally seemed like more trouble than its meager flesh provided. Squabbling with her sisters over the choicest bits and keeping up the peaking order, especially with Blue getting irritable and Echo inclined to brawl, made for an annoying time. Instead, Delta found herself getting more accustomed to solo hunting, acting more as a lone ambush predator than a pack carnivore. Of course, not all her meals came from hunting; she found herself accepting a decent amount of snacks from her favorite food giver and a select few of the mammal pack.
Walking around near the edge of the forest, she stomped back and forth as she smelled the air and heard the rustling of the area. Larger prey seemed to have moved on from this area yesterday; she doubted anything worth catching lurked around now. Given her energy requirements, she would prefer to take at least one large prey animal down today; otherwise, she might as well just snooze on a rock to save her energy.
