It wouldn't been a real shame if Atbash had fallen into the water or something. And by 'shame' Izuku means they'd probably both be crying and in absolute hysteria. And reasonably so, considering both of them were pretty panicked by the water just as it was now. Or at least they were uneasy? Izuku knows he is, but that's just sort of his default setting anyways so what does it matter, honestly.
"The river probably isn't frozen over -- it won't be perfect, but we can just check there?" Izuku offers. It's not a perfect solution -- not all the same fish will be in the river as there are in the lake. But it's close enough!! And today is just a day for exploration. Izuku will probably spend some time fishing later, maybe. Only maybe. Izuku doesn't have that kind of patience, at least not when it came to sitting still, and he'd probably get soaked and then he'd ruin his bandages again and Izuku just didn't want to deal with that. But he might deal with it anyways. "Okay, so, um, just ... pay attention for plants or feral animals," Izuku couldn't really see that far, so he hoped Atbash would at least be able to help that much. Or even if she didn't, what did it matter, Izuku was just glad for her company. So with this, Izuku begins trotting forward again. So around the lake, to the river. Neat. Okay.
