Izuku didn't know a lot about fish, either. He liked it, of course, and just eating it was fun, but he kind of struggled to tell them apart. .. There was probably a book on fish that he could conjure if all else failed, though. In other words, Izuku was pretty reliant on books to identify stuff that wasn't plants. Plants may not come naturally but Izuku would be damned if he hadn't put himself through hell long enough that he knew em like that back of his hand. His paw. The back of his paw. He didn't have hands anymore.
"True!! The ice shouldn't be hard to break, but not falling in is going to be .. difficult," Izuku sighs. How do they clear enough ice to see whats down there? The ice was awfully thin, it being summer and all, and that's their only saving grace. After a few moments, Izuku approaches the iced lake and places his left paw on it and presses. Okay, yeah, not terribly stable. They don't want to go into the water, either. That's just asking for hypothermia. Should they just .. forget about this till they can come up with something else? Unless they just wanna make a small hole and try and lure fish or something, but that's not really that efficient. Izuku, if he were uninjured, might've been the one taking a swim, and honestly thank god that he was. Otherwise he'd be doing even more dumb stuff than he already was.
