she didn't sleep anymore. her papa's returned did relieve her - it really did. she already felt much better with him around. but, she didn't sleep. she had to make sure that it wouldn't happen again. she could have stopped it. she knows she could have. she had been right next to him. so, she only pretended to sleep, to make him happy. and then, when she noticed he left, she would wait quietly. she felt worried, but she wouldn't move yet. perhaps he would come back inside soon.
but, when he didn't, she allowed herself to get up slowly and move around. she sniffed around, trying to figure out where he had gone. it was unlikely that he was in danger, but she still couldn't help but worry. she couldn't have this happen again. she certainly didn't want him to be alone, at least. so, the girl made her way around the dark territory quietly, actually kind of enjoying it more. it didn't hurt her head so bad. she was able to locate her papa when she heard a few voices, one of which she did not recognize, and the other belonging to the man himself. she moved herself towards them as she spotted cronas first, wondering what an apparent joiner was doing out so late.
the injured kitten stepped up next to her papa, leaning against him gently to make him aware of her presence. she was glad he's okay. and not alone, either, as cronas was here. she looked to the stranger curiously, her green eyes glowing in the dark. "welcome to the crew," she'd say softly to the joiner. she wondered how he got the name A9. that was certainly different. "i'm goldie. it's nice to meet ya!" she introduced next, her voice friendly. "sorry to hear about your home, i couldn't ever imagine that happening."

NOTHING'S EVER LOST FOREVER, IT'S JUST HIDING IN THE RECESS OF YOUR MIND AND WHEN YOU NEED IT, IT WILL COME TO YOU AT NIGHT. I MISS THE YELLOW. I MISS THE YELLING AND THE SHAKEDOWN. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, NO, I GOT A BETTER SET OF KNIVES NOW. I MISS MY DRUMMER, MY DEAD STEPBROTHER, AND THE PIT CROWD. AND CHUCK AND MATTY - IF THEY COULD SEE ME THEY'D BE SO PROUD.
