"As if," Shay laughed, upon hearing Margaret's words. She tossed a look over her shoulder to her girlfriend who was propped up on the bed. She was wearing one of her softer smiles - the kind she reserved just for Margy. "You and I both know we'd both die without technology." Her words were full of amusement.
She clicked on the video, smiling brightly. Her eyes moved to the chat, reading over messages from Cooper, Bast, and Hazel. She let out an airy laugh at Cooper's message. Poor guy. She'd met him by chance on a spring break vacation with Margaret, and the rest was history. He was like an older brother to her, and as little sister do, she was often dragging him into situations like this group chat. Everyone was like family though, so he fit in easily.

In the instant that she sent the message, she saw Hazel's smiling face greet her. The biggest smile ever brightened up Shay's own, and she waved back. "Hi, Haze!" she said, excitement visible in her tone. "What are you working on? I want to see!" She tried her best to see the artwork of warm hues. She always loved seeing the other's paintings and drawings, and it seemed Hazel was working on something big this time. "And how'd the end of junior year go? Are you excited to be a senior? Ah, Margy, our baby girl is all grown up!" she said, pouting for a few seconds before breaking off into laughter.
