Bast would probably take offense if he knew his mentor didn't really consider him babysitter material, frankly. Sure, he didn't really seem like the type to like kids, and generally speaking, he wasn't great with them. Well, okay, he didn't really have much experience with them, so he had no real way to know if he was or wasn't, but he felt like he probably wasn't too great with them. Pele and Sylva were different, though. They were Luna's, and Bast would go out of his way to keep them safe. Hell, he checked in on them and Luna more than he checked in on himself.
As it was, he stopped beside Joel without so much as a flicker of reaction towards Margaery's presence. That immediate irritation that typically arose in her presence was just... gone. There was simply nothing, no sway in his dead apathy whatsoever, and he stared up at Luna with an arched brow. "Trying to get somewhere those kiddos can't reach you, Luna?" he drawled.
