[font=trebuchet ms]Rin did not recall knowing how to play any musical instruments. Perhaps she could learn the basics of, say, a piano, where hitting a key slightly off-center wouldn't sour its note- but performing more complex pieces, or playing an instrument where the placement of your claws actually mattered in terms of intonation, was far beyond her current level of dexterity. She didn’t mind that, really. Being able to draw a readable map and write comprehensibly was all she really needed to be able to do with her claws, at least in terms of the arts.
The soft melody of a ukulele in the distance, however, did strike a chord with her, drawing her into the Observatory. Watching Suiteheart playing as naturally as if the instrument was an extension of her mind, Rin found herself humming along, as if she knew the tune vibrating off of the strings by heart. She did not recall where she could have heard this song, but the progression, the notes, the words were all innately familiar. ”We aaaaaare wild,” she murmured in time with Suiteheart’s voice, albeit even more softly, to allow the true performer to shine. ”Americana exotica, do you wanna feel a little beautiful, baby, yeah?”
She could not recall her former home, but in that moment, she felt like she was back there- back where she belonged.
Or had she belonged?
Blinking, her eyes focused back in on Suiteheart. ”Brava,” Rin said aloud, with a nod of acknowledgement. ”You’re... really good at this.” Cripes, this was awkward. Clearing her throat, she added, ”Ah, I’m guessing you know Panic! At the Disco? Maybe play ‘The Ballad of Mona Lisa?’”
