In the haze following Starry's death, Bastille had been struggling to both keep himself in check and keep track of those he cared about, as if any one of them might slip out of his line of vision and decide to leave him, too. Sure, the apathy weighing him down made it hard to care about much of anything, but through the fog he knew that his mentor had been AWOL for a bit. He just didn't have the damn energy to track her down, though eventually he went wondering down the halls and stopped outside her room. His dead stare flickered over the books with little interest -- since when did books not interest him? -- before it stopped at her, and he scowled.

"Are you sick?" he demanded, the words a little harsher than he meant; for a brief moment, he blamed her for not telling them, for not getting help, for putting herself in danger -- but he knew it was irrational, and bit back more demanding questions about why the hell she wasn't seeing Rad or anyone.

Honey, you're familiar, like my mirror years ago, Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on his sword, Innocence died screaming; honey, ask me, I should know, I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door.   [sup]▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃[/sup]
