[font=trebuchet ms]Indeed, the Ascendants were a family of sorts to her. While they knew only as much about her as she did, and didn't know whether or not she'd be useful in the slightest, they had still welcomed her in with open arms. Within her limited scope of the world, this was her home- and Bastille, Roy, Suite, Hazel, Margaery, Luna, and all the others were her family. Insomuch as she could say she loved anyone, she loved them, and as far as she knew, they loved her back.
Was it any wonder, then, that the scent of blood and the sound of an agonized yelp nearly sent her into a flight of panic? With a hiss, Rin rushed out of her room and towards the entrance to the main circle. Maybe it was nothing- maybe someone had simply torn a claw- but after Roy had brushed so closely with death, she knew she couldn't afford to take chances. She couldn't lose a clanmate, not when they were all she had, and maybe- just maybe- what little she could offer would be enough to save their lives.
Setting her jaw in a display of stone-cold determination, Rin burst out into the Grand Circle- and nearly choked upon seeing the sheer amount of blood pouring from Starrynight's wound. The gash in his side, the agony clear on his face, the lack of air entering or exiting his maw... it would've taken an expert medic to have even the slightest chance of saving him, she realized with growing horror, and Radeken was nowhere to be seen.
Starrynight was going to die, and there was nothing she could do about it.
Despite the realization swelling in the back of her mind, almost without thinking, Rin pushed forwards anyway. Approaching Starrynight's side, she tore her scarf away from her neck and aimed to wrap it tightly around the gash, as if that would help anything- as if that would fix the wounds that he almost certainly bore on the inside from his fall. "No medic," she mumbled, numbness setting into her brain. "Have to figure this out... no other way."
Swallowing, she continued more clearly, "If his bones are broken, they could puncture something. We have to hold him still until the bleeding stops, that's our best chance of saving him." Glancing over at Margaery with blank eyes, she pointed one paw at Starrynight's throat. "Check to see if his windpipe is blocked, then hold his front legs. I'll hold the back legs." Aiming to press her paws down gently on his hind legs, she then turned her head and called, "Someone who's got fire powers, get over here. I think we're going to have to cauterize the wound."
