How long had she been chasing him? It felt as though she was running in slow motion, and he was getting further and further away. Mother, in all her beauty before the sickness, and Father, in all his courageous glory before he became cowardly. She stared, and for a moment she felt so small. Kold whimpered, whined, wept, but even so, she knew they weren't real.

"Dad! Dad, please! Why does it hurt so much?!?" She hollered, hunching over. It hurt so bad, the familiar pain of the accursed blood that ran in her veins. The blood she carried from her mother. It burned like fire in her heart. Another wail left her, and she felt the tears fall.
