ROMULUS MALUS - KINGPIN - COTC
When was the last meeting? Oh gosh, it had been awhile. Romulus was beginning to realize he needed to buck up and start addressing the wanderers more often, but sometimes there wasn't much to say. Thankfully, there were a few things he wanted to discuss... Finally! With his head high and eyes on the storming skies, the lion stood tall on the edge of the mainland's snake caves. He let out a roar in no time, letting others gather for quite awhile in the caves below before beginning his spiel. Their meeting would be dry, thankfully. No rain for them today.
As the majority gathered, the lion cleared their throat. Time to start. "Coalitioners, many of you have been diligent lately and I thank you for your efforts," the lion started off with. "Everyone who has been helping out with the Hall of Kings rebuild has been doing well with the renovations. Things are beginning to feel homely." Everyone putting their own talents together to create a new space was all Romulus could ask for. The last step was to rebuild the sculptures. Romulus would be putting that on himself, as most of the leaders before them were his family.
"I would also like to congratulate two love birds on getting married." A paw extended out towards the crowd, attempting to find Saturn and Byriath. "It has been a long time since we had such an event in the Coalition, so please offer them your condolences." A cocky smirk met his lips. "Kidding!" They were a lovely couple and deserved the best. "Congratulations Saturn and Byriath." Romulus dipped their head towards them in good faith, leading onto other subjects moments later.
Paws clasped together as he leaned back. "Let's get to the fun things, shall we?" he elegantly continued with. "Promotions, demotions, events, and all the graceful likes of your normal meeting." The lion's usually stoic expression pulled into a small smile. The autumn equinox was coming quick. Romulus had plenty of plans in mind for the event and had started to execute them privately, but the others knew nothing, not even his high positions, of his intended purpose.
"First off, I would like to announce some demotions." A sigh left him. This was going to be rough. "Mother, Ninazu, you are being demoted to a wanderer. Inferno, same to you." He hoped his niece and parent wouldn't take any offense, but they haven't been around. Needless to say, something had to be done. Romulus just happened to be the lucky man having to execute it. With a subtle dip of his head, purple hues looked away from the crowd momentarily in a show of regret.
A shake of his head and he was back into it. "Byriath, Plexus, I would like to commend you on your activity lately. You both have been around the Coalition of the Condemned, assisting those you see with care. We have come a long way from a vicious group due to your endeavors," the lion offered. Romulus cared for both of them deeply, especially as friends. They had the group's best interest in minds, even with their past. He wanted to reward them.
With a smile starting to form on his maw, the leader continued with his speech. "Byriath and Plexus, I would like for you to step up as a vicar or a warlord. You have that choice." Not everyone was comfortable with a deputy-equivalent position. He didn't see Plexus as someone to accept warlord either, but Byriath maybe so. He predicted vicar for both though, but left the option open. "If you would accept, I would be grateful."
The winds outside the edge of the caves caused Romulus to turn his head, mane whipping into his face as he did so. Torrential downpour started to turn in their direction, beginning to fill the bottom of the Jaws of the Serpent. Curious. As his paws started to grow drenched and backside covered in water, the lion turned back. A low hum left him and echoed throughout the cave. A problem was on their hands. He had expected storms to subside, but during their meeting, the world had chosen to damn them to the confines below.
"It appears we're going to have to cut things short," he announced loudly. "Please evacuate to the mountain village." As the wings started to howl through the entrance, he raised his voice. "LET'S GO."
Now it was time for the trek through their land as it started to flood with the sea level rising and the rain throwing it's weight down onto animals below. The winds had even managed to whip Romulus' weight around as he rose to his feet, looking out on the horizon and stumbling slightly, only to catch his footing. He would try to leave last, hopefully leaving no one behind, and then catch up to the front to lead them.
