WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — Jacob had spent a significant amount of time looking at different types of prosthetics in the past but not because he had a patient that needed one. After the fire and after the building had collapsed on him, Jacob's legs, and body in general, had taken a significant amount of damage. Directly following both of those events, he hadn't been able to walk around and he'd made a makeshift wheelchair for himself to get around in. Slowly, he'd used it less and less and now had almost complete mobility, though he had a hard time jumping or running, even on good days. But the day was still coming. All the physical therapy, all the exercises, all the herbs... Those were only things that slowed the silent decay of his legs and nerves. He knew that one morning he'd wake up and he wouldn't be able to move and that day was looming closer than ever. He had less good days than ever before and he was often in pain, even if he did manage to get himself out of his cave in the morning. He'd done a good job of hiding it since he'd adopted Harrison but he couldn't keep it up forever.
Jacob had only been passing by when he heard someone let out a rather explicit exclamation. Jacob was used to such words, having spent his whole life around his Pa, Babbo, and Jerseyboy. He found himself glancing around for Harry before he made his way over among the group that had already gathered. It seemed Stark had it under control for the most part but he still spoke, "I know quite a bit 'bout prosthetics but I ain't ever worked with anythin' as complicated as that. I could try takin' a look at the attachment process if Stark can look at the mechanical stuff, though. I wouldn' wanna' mess nothin' up when I try ta' reattach it. If ya' fell, it mighta' jus' jostled the mechanisms that were keepin' it in place. It wouldn' be tha' hard ta' realign them. At least, I wouldn' think so if it's anythin' like the other ones 've worked with. This one might be more shiny but unless they did somethin' real special ta' it, 'm sure it connects jus' like any other one would. At least, ones like this where it really mimics the whole limb n' stuff like that. 'Ve only ever got ta' work with two like tha' n' they were made ah' plastic but 'm pretty confidant I could do it usin' my old notes for reference," he offered.
