The old beast was sitting peacefully by the river when he heard their screeches. Massive head swiveled around just in time to spot the moth cats darting into the woods, and despite his own ideals of staying away from others, curiosity cursed him to move. And so, he did. Heavy pawsteps signaled that he was on the move, alongside gruff noises that weren't quite wolf.

He came to a stop as he stared at the two. One final noise left him, a mimicry of a wolf's growl. He could never get the noises right, could never be like his littermates. The timber wolf studied the two harshly, sniffing the air and starting to walk around them to get a better view.

CAUSE ONE OF US IS GOING, ONE OF US IS GOING DOWN!
