the howl of a voice she didn't know, drew the other lingre from her resting spot amongst the trees of the jungle, approaching the border at a mild trot. spotting rowan, the borzoi would push from the treeline with a soft growl before halting. this was a youngster just free of puphood, reminding her with a pang of her uncle and mother. the scent clinging to his pelt was familiar, more familiar than she was ready for.

the last she'd seen her mother had been his injured body, with his murderer standing over him. that was the last time that she'd seen the former head of the bloodline, and this child smelt of him. she didn't know how to accept that, tipping her head to the side and baring her teeth the slightest with a warning growl, "Who are you kid? Why are you on our border?"
