THE WAVES WILL BREAK! -- hellhound. regent.

there was a lot left to be said by things like these, and to be discovered.

he felt useless, and disgusting. his pelt felt heavy with sweat, and his head was finally clear for the first time in days. his body trembled under the furs he laid under, shivering from a wicked illness that had claimed him for over a month and more by now. today, today was the first day that he felt sort of better. though, anger burned in his chest, an anger directed towards himself and the gods, that he was so weak that he hadn't been around for his group in some time.

that anger wasn't very productive, if not in-fact, destructive. gods, he could feel his mind slipping back to the darkness of slumber and rest, something the over-worked regent desperately needed. yet, it made his skin crawl to rest for so long, it made him antsy and bitter. today was not the day that he could get up again though, his body was too frail and the winds of winter still hadn't fully left the lands. tomorrow. tomorrow would be the day.

then too, would tomorrow come to pass with the Regent only barely able to stomach anything more than the liquid foods he'd been devouring since he'd fallen sick. within this time, his fever broke and strength began to return yet he had to rest more. the day after tomorrow would come and he would haul himself from bed, determined. on that day too, he did not pass the doors of his chambers. the day after that, would he step out into the world like a newborn calf, legs not sure if they could carry his weight. slowly he would recover, wandering around the wall and keep, growing stronger slowly but surely over the next few weeks.

finally, he would emerge, as strong as he was before, if not thinner and a bit more tired looking. clearing his throat as he walked into the mess hall, shaking out his fur as he called out, "guardians! gather around! we have some important things to speak about!", the regent would settle himself comfortably in the hall, knowing that those who heard him would appear. there were new faces to welcome, an oathtaker's path to initiate and a very late guardfire to host. among that, there were other matters of concern such as announcing themself to the land, and spreading out their tendrils in the trade of the land, and preparing the farmlands.
