moss felt like a shadow-- she was rarely acknowledged and was always the last to eat out of her family, and sometimes she even went without a meal when food was scarce. due to these things she was underweight for a majority of her childhood and rarely spoke.
eventually she found a group of unrelated cats and was rescued from her family (though she was sure they never realized it). the group taught her how to live, they showed her what a real family was supposed to be like and mossberry was finally beginning to feel like she was home.
