ENTRY NO. 42. TELL ME A STORY.
"TELL me a story," i'd told him, bleeding and bruised with worn memory. "what was your favorite bedtime story? go on." and with hesitation slowly falling from its place in his countenance he's poured the too-big heart of a small child into mine. a reservation there i could see he could not shake, overcome with the need to speak and remove the mind from the hurt of yesteryear. and there mine own heart, big enough to share the burden of the hurt that runneth over.
to wax poetic, new sin does not exist in the dark confines of the night. there should be only the comforting hug of a lover to heal the old.
i wish i could heal it on your behalf. more than anything i wish to apologize to the hurt and angry and confused little dragonsbane in the mind's eye - the one you take in nightmares.
