Needless to say, Maes hadn't been the happiest camper. He had been trying to adjust to this new life, and trying to get over his old one. His memories definitely made it harder to, but he was trying his best. You had to give him props for that at least. So, what better way to do it than to do something positive? It would at least distract him from his difficult situation. Plus he may even attract some attention and get to know a few people. He was pretty hesitant to trust the other members, but it didn't mean he couldn't at least socialize.
So, he found his supplies, scouring all over the observatory until he found what he needed. The place luckily wasn't too big, so he wouldn't be getting lost any time soon. After gathering the paint and paper, he struggles a bit with opening the jars, but eventually manages somehow. He settles down onto his stomach, staring down at the blank piece of paper in front of him. He had never been much of an artist, but he still had fun doing it. Once he decided what he wanted to do, he dipped his paw into the jar of red and made a long streak.
