Metagaming is a term used in roleplay or roleplaying games, which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances.
We as a site need to make sure to stay away from metagaming as much as possible due to it being able to deter plots, interactions, and relations with the character and can cause overall issues. This is not only unfair to the character that is having issues but to the person who roleplays them. Even if we, as roleplayers, know the character and possess knowledge of future plots that might involve said character/roleplayer doesn't mean we should use that as a way to metagame and our own characters suddenly have information or knowledge of that character or how they're like if they never met before.
