Deafening thunder / private; Hushsound

Eirny hadn’t always been a thunderbird.

She started out as a blue and white fox, quite a pretty looking creature, until she fought a blessed bird of a god and became cursed and sentenced to living as the gigantic creature she is now, with uncontrollable electric powers. She didn’t ask for this- the thing came after her and she was forced to slay it to defend herself! Where was the wrong in that? She had done nothing to provoke it or the god’s wrath, but here she was.

And many feared her presence.

Including a crew mate named Hushsound. She barely knew him but he especially expressed fear and she didn’t like seeing that in those she cared about. She wanted to set this whole thing right. Hopefully it would all work out.

Sitting perched a safe distance away as to not zap him, she gently tried to use telepathy to get his attention with a small greeting.

”Hello? Hushsound, are you available to speak with?”

[hushsound.]

Hushsound honestly hadn't meant to come off as so fearful around Eirny. It had mostly just been involuntary things that had revealed just how frightened he was of her massive form, like the way that his eyes flicked rapidly over her huge form, and the way that he shifted and leaned away from her when her huge presence was around. He didn't mean to be rude to Eirny or anything, it was just kinda a reflex when there was something huge and kinda scary nearby. He used to do it with Goldie as well, since she was such a big feline compared to him, but things had changed once he had gotten to know her a bit better, just as they would probably change when he got to know Eirmy better as well. When Eirny reached out to him with telepathy while he was sitting near the tavern, Hush looked up in surprise, and glanced around in confusion before he slotted the large Thunderbird. He couldn't help but hesitate for a moment, before he trotted over to where Eirny was, just a little bit away from her. He reached a claw out to scratch into the ground, still feeling a little awkward that he wasn't able to talk to her out loud, or talk to her with her own odd mind magic – since he didn't really know what telepathy was yet, "I HAVE PLENTY TIME TO SPEAK WITH YOU, MISS EIRNY. WHAT IS IT?"

If she could smile, she would have in this moment. As she gazed upon him, her posture became less stiff. "I wanted to let you know that you don't have to be afraid of me. I mean no harm to you. I happened to notice how much you avoided me, or at least that's how it looked." Eirny spoke again with telepathy, as her voice itself was anxiety-inducing in this form. She didn't want to verbally speak, as she was afraid to. She was afraid of herself and her powers. The big bird tilted her head, listening and observing calmly.

"I was hoping to get to know each other better." Eirny honestly didn't know what else to say at this point, but was willing to answer questions if he had any. It would build trust between them and make her less threatening, right? She hoped that was the case.

When Eirny relaxed and spoke again in Hush's mind, Hush was less startled than the first time, but still tensed slightly, his eyes widening the faintest bit. He wasn't used to others speaking in his head, and it made it slightly hard to focus on the actual words, but he got the general vibe of her message, and he felt a faint frown come to his muzzle. He hadn't meant to give the impression that he disliked Eirny or was frightened by her, but it seemed that he had unintentionally. Sure, her form was pretty frightening to him, but that didn't mean that she seemed like she was going to hurt him or anything. She was just so... huge, and her form was such a crazy departure fro anything else that the small feline had ever seen before. He could definitely understand her own thoughts of being afraid to do things, however. He too was often too afraid to speak, too ashamed of his own voice. They had different reasonings for the things that they did, but they did share some traits that put Hush slightly at ease. Nodding as Eirny said she wanted to get to know him, he scuffed out his old words and carefully wrote new ones, "I WOULDN'T MIND GETTING TO KNOW YOU, EIRNY. I'M SORRY IF I GAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT I WAS AFRAID OF YOU. I'VE JUST NEVER SEEN A BIRD LIKE YOU BEFORE... HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY?"
