[align=center][div style="width: 450px;; text-align: justify"][size=8pt]Before her eyes opened she already knew she was dreaming. It was like this soft white noise in her head when she dreamed, and as her eyes slowly cracked open, she found herself staring into the shadows - as usual, she was in that dark dreamscape again.
But something was different. Beneath her feet was grass - it was white and ashen, like dust had fallen all over it, but it was grass. She'd never seen this in the nightmare area before - even the normally surging and storming shadows were eerily still, like a dark fog was crawling towards her.
It felt wrong. She was so used to the unsettling dread of shadows and monsters hiding inside it, the images of her mother's half-decaying corpse, or the Happycamper with the missing eyes - she'd already seen that multiple times, however she stopped herself from telling anyone about it, of course.
"Belladonna." the voice from behind was cool and particulate, and as Belladonna spun around to face the direction of the voice, she already knew who it was. She'd heard her screams in her dreams so many times before. Belladonna opened her mouth to speak her name but her mother moved closer to greet her, placing her paw over Belladonna's mouth before she could breathe her name.
This wasn't a nightmare, this wasn't like normal. This was Belladonna's mother, Chrysanthemum, in front of her - and there was nothing peculiar or off about her. Chrysanthemum, much like Bella, was a pretty, dainty she-cat, with a soft plush calico pelt and the same yellow eyes. Her eyes were the only thing she had left of her mother, aside from her memories. And she watched Belladonna carefully before removing her paw from Belladonna's mouth, and she sat down, gesturing for Belladonna to sit down and listen quietly - she used to do the same thing in her medic lessons.
It felt like she sat there for hours, listening to her mother talk - Chrysanthemum whispered of how proud she was of her precious daughter, however between the praises there were warnings of 'him', that she must be weary - Belladonna had no clue what she was talking about, but Chrysanthemum just shook her head, and chuckled. "You're still just a child, aren't you?"
Before Bella could contest, her mother's image started to flicker. "I'm out of time. Belladonna, honey, I'm going to give you something really special." she mewed, and this time, Belladonna got her words out. "Wait, what? Mother, how can you give me anything?" she asked, but Chrysanthemum gave her a sly smile. "You'll know." the dream-mother handed her a little locket that looked a bit like a box, before she said, "Belladonna, it's time. You're far more special than you know, sweetie. I'm sorry I never got to teach you everything."
As she opened her mouth to speak, her eyes were open wide, and she was awake in her room again, and she slowly rose to her feet. Sighing wistfully, she glanced around, before she noticed the locket - it was now next to her bed where she'd slept. She seemed to have conjured it from her dreams. Picking it up in her paws, she slipped it over her head and it dangled over her chest.
Padding outside, she snagged a coat from the rack, a long hooded cloak, and she pulled it tight over her small frame before walking outside - it wasn't cold, per-se, but she felt cold, like an illness was coming down on her. She doubted anyone would notice the signs of her sickness, but instead she just started to go on her way, off to snag some breakfast from somewhere.
"Speech."
[ tl;dr: belladonna had a dream of her mother, and now she's had some powers 'reawakened' and anyone with clairvoyance or the power to see aura will notice that her aura has changed, now a pale lavender that pulses strongly. she now has a square locked locket around her neck with no keyhole or key to unlock it with. belladonna has limited power/magical energy so she's got the symptoms of a cold that will disappear in a few 'days'/posts ]
