[size=10pt]Jael admits he's been enjoying the weather lately, but he dreads what comes next. Winter is practically the bane of his existence. He's stopped travelling in the evening just to avoid the freezing temperatures - even in early autumn, the cold is absolutely unbearable late at night, and he'd rather not catch hypothermia while scrambling to find shelter. His wings, large as they are, also offer him no warmth. If he drapes them over his body, they'll just drag in the dirt and take the brunt of the cold air. They stay folded against his spine as he walks - or, rather, hobbles.

Speaking of, he has no clue where he's going. Usually he'll peek at a map or ask around for directions to the nearest stop before he heads out, but this time he'd just started walking and hasn't stopped since. Ever since he lost his leg, his wanderlust has grown... faint. Everything seems so dreary. He has no more interest in sightseeing. Not even the most beautiful scenery catches his attention; it's all the same thing with different colors and different lighting. He's been hoping that he'll gain interest in the one thing that really made him happy once again, but that's still yet to come.

He lost his leg only a month ago. Jael supposes that it will take a long time to heal and move on, but he's so impatient. He wants everything to be better now, he's already sick of being so - so sad. He can only keep moving and hope for the best. Even though the passion and excitement is gone, he still can't bring himself to stay in one place for very long.

Just through the pass, he can spot a wall of sorts. He must have stumbled across a fort of some sorts. Jael's pace grows slower, and he becomes cautious, careful to scan for any weapons poised his way. It's a rather large wall, one that seems to span a considerable distance, so he doubts that a single three-legged dog is much of a threat to these creatures, but there's no harm in being careful. Once Jael deems that no arrows will rain from above and shoot him down, he approaches the gate, and whoever's guarding it.

"What's this place?" he asks. "Some kinda fortress?"

"Th-that's one way to put it," Although Gordon should have been amused whenever she spoke these words, the munchkin mix she-cat had a tired tone to her voice. Everything was so hectic lately, with ghosts appearing in camp and Tanglewood seeking refuge here. Gordon didn't like how many people were in camp now and the amount of people around made her incredible wary and as a result, she was constantly tired due to always feeling anxious. It was normal for her to be anxious sure, but Tanglewood - an entire group of strangers - staying did not help her nerves whatsoever. Gordon slowly raised her green-eyed gaze to look at the stranger by the gates, blinking a him.

"Th-this is Sunhaven." Gordon went on, trying to give the three-legged dog a smile. Huh, looks like she wasn't the only one here with some sort of disability. That being how short she was, of course. "What brings you h-here?"

[size=10pt]"That's quite the name." It makes him feel as though he's standing at the gates of heaven. If he's being honest, the gates of heaven look rather dreary. Though the mountains and the sea are a sight to behold, he can't say the same for the towering wooden wall. The retriever peers around Gordon to get a glimpse of said 'fortress'. It doesn't look as lethargic and drab as it does hectic. Whatever's going on, he can't blame her for sounding so tired. "You look like you could use a nap, hon."

He's never met such a small cat before. He would dare to call her cute, comparable to that of a kitten, what with the tiny legs and all. It must be something in the water.

"Oh, no reason in particular," says Jael. "I'm a traveller. Just happened to end up here, I suppose. What's there to offer here in... Sunhaven, you said?"

[align=center][div style="max-width: 340px; line-height:120%; font-family: calibri; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify; margin-bottom:5px"]Heaven. Almost amusing would such a word in regards to this place, though within its own way it held a beauty. Nestled within the water, tones of sapphire and emerald brought together with touches of more, the life within toned as though they were jewels caught beneath the very surface, the town was a cluster of gentle tones. A great deal were coloured in pastel shades, bright and welcome though time had worn upon each structure in turn, removed from it some of the charm. Caught in the middle the greenhouse was the darkest of them all, the deep green shade of its glass gleaming beneath the light of the sun.

Almost may such be deemed a heaven if not for the life contained within, once what may have been sleepy had reached a level that left it fit to burst. Though there was a benefit from such, the political landscape about them turbulent and any assistance would be welcome, though this cost was almost too much.

“A place to stay, food, wares if you wish to trade, times have been.. rough but you will be safe and have all you may need,” words passed dark lips lifted in the slight shape of a small smile, though tight about the edges. Esma bore no care to speak of the prior events, within time this stranger would learn of each event that had made their time here difficult, unnecessary information if he bore no care to stay amongst them. “Might I ask your name?” Attention flicked towards where a leg had been severed, cut away to leave the ragged flesh in need to mending, slow to such. Though there was no outward problems, at least within such clear fashion as the lack of a limb, but they knew well pain. Joints hurt the further into the cold season they went, pain finding root until it grew, the ache of chest and back, chronic at this point, growing in intensity.
