[div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: arial;"]♡ — Having been shown to a free house that she could claim as her own, Clove was stood at the doorway to her new home with a dubious expression written clearly upon her features. The sun had set at least an hour ago, and stars were beginning to appear on the canvas of the sky. Clove couldn't wait to sleep - and indeed, the Sunhaveners around her had begun to head to bed too.
Everything was quiet, bar the waves that lapped gently around the bottom of each floating house.
And the creaking of the wood boards that held them together.
Clove had grown used to whispering leaves being the only noise that surrounded her as she slept. Getting used to being inside this groaning structure would take some time, in addition to not being directly under the moon.
There was a roof above her head now. Clove wasn't ungrateful for that fact, it was just that the whole thing felt a bit strange.
Taking a deep breath, the alabaster kitsune began to step into the building. With every paw she placed on the floor, the entire house seemed to creak; and Clove winced with every movement she made. Moons of lying low and being as quiet as possible had conditioned her to avoid anything that made a noise, so much so that her mind was insisting she left the house right then and there.
It didn't even feel like a home. There was little furniture; a sofa in the corner, a couple of plant pots by the window at the far end, and a hanging flower wreath on a door that she assumed led to a bedroom. It was cold, too. There was no sunlight spilling through the panes of glass and warming the wood within, and the chill of the night had begun to set in. What she needed were a few candles, or something. Blankets at least. But who knew where she could get those from?
