Living in the desert was the equivalent of a double-edged sword, freezing at night and scorching hot during the days. Fortunately, Levi was use to the ups and downs of the weather here. At night he simply covered up with a ton of blankets, and the day did he make sure to stay hydrated and limit his exposure to the sun. He always had been mindful of his health. Today, much to his surprise, was much cooler than he anticipated. Clouds covered the blue sky, a very slight breeze bringing life to the desert. It was too good of a day to spend locked up inside of camp.

Levi had come across a lone jack rabbit on his hike around the territory, perfect for the picking. Despite his black coat sticking out against the brown sand, Levi was good at being stealthy in the sand. It took a few times, but quickly had he picked up the skill needed to stalk in the sand without his limbs sliding out from under him. The canine counted down in his head: two... one, and jump. He hauled himself forward, his powerful legs throwing his body forward. When it appeared he was going to win this one, he suddenly reached his limit. A horrid pain ricocheted throughout his body, all the way from his shoulders to his hips. Levi grimaced, his body suddenly collapsing. Slightly embarrassed, Levi quickly heaved himself to his paws, the rabbit long gone. "Damnit." He hated this, but there was nothing that could be done.

He didn't eat like the rest of them did and to try and pack down his hunger would only cause problems in the long run. So he did his best to satisfy himself but prey blood could only do so much. Sometime he caught other canines but it was harder said than done for someone like himself. A struggle and there was often new bruises to be taken care of when he could afford the time to do so. Now though as the day seemed more cooler than normal the temporary leader found himself wanting to be outside for a little while, at least to survey the camp and make sure things were okay with the Pitt in general. Though he was sure that Benny and Quill didn't need his help considering the two were more capable in handling things on their own he wanted to at least be seen sometime. Stalking from his own home the male allowed his jaws to part, soft wind pulling against shaggy black and pastel purple glowing fur. Though he paused it took him only a moment till he was out of the fortress, shifting through he sands of the desert and pink marble gaze focusing on nothing in particular.

That was till he saw a darkness moving across the sands. Stalking. He grew intrigued and from there he watched, thick forked tail pausing in it's movements as he sought to understand the situation. The other canine seemed intent on something but at a lunge he noticed the tension of pain and the hunt was cut short, or was it? It seemed the rabbit had sharply turned toward himself and he watched with intrigue before he dove into the rabbit's mind and constricted. His strengths always lied with his mind and he forced the rabbit to calm as he walked over and opened his jaws. The last thing the rabbit would see before thick teeth punctured it's throat and ended it's life. Slowly he walked over to Levi, examining the doberman who still possessed the strength he still had before his injuries, well, if he allowed himself to heal he would and he gently dropped the prey down before him, blood dripping from his jaws. His tongue swiped against his jaws as he stepped back. "I see you are straining yourself again. The rabbit is your's if you want it and a check up maybe?"

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 60%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 13pt; text-align: justify;"]The voice had startled him, causing the ebony and tan male to drew back. However, it only took a brief moment before Levi managed to compose himself. Hazl eyes looked to the other, slightly narrowed. This guy was almost everywhere. Compared to the other, Levi did not stand out much. He had no special markings or coloring, hell, and did not posses a single power. The first time he saw an 'unnatural' animal had he thought he lost all sanity. Throughout his travels had he grown use to them, even a bit jealous, but he was happy the way he was. Maybe someone could help be acquire a power, but that would be for another day. Levi looked to the dead rabbit, a hint of rage boiling up inside of him. He had grown this incompetent? For a second, he became confused as to if the other was mocking him or was simply offering him pity.

Pity. He grew frustrated at the thought. Levi wanted no one's pity. "I see you're still concerned with me." The doberman did not mean his words to be taken in a negative fashion, but they did roll off of his tongue with a bit of an attitude. He sighed, seeing no point in starting a fire just for the sake of his meaningless pride. The dog did not deserve to have pride, not after the horrid things he had done. "It's more so for the group than me. You a healer?" The way the other had been so interested in his physical state only led him to believe that they were a healer. Levi had only met one healer before, and she was not so kind. He recalled his brother going to her for a twisted paw, only to be yelled at for being pathetic, having a bunch of junk shoved down his throat, and back to the mission. "Maybe a checkup if you're willing."

It was unexpected but then again he should have possibly expected some type of negative response. Especially since he caught the rabbit for him instead of letting him catch it himself. Maybe he shouldn't interfere in someone else's hunts or their business as much as he did. The idea filled him with a sense of loneliness but he filed it away for later debate as he looked down at his paws. His jaws parted slowly before he closed them again, debating on what to say. The words tumbled from his muzzle with barely any emotion lacing them as if it was expected of him to say it. "Someone has to be." Concern was necessary, the Pitt was a very dog eat dog world and if someone didn't care about the wellbeing of someone else they could find themselves in a very dire situation of being push down to the bottom of the ranks. Sighing lightly he relaxed his shoulders and attempted to give the other male some space so that he didn't get uncomfortable with his closeness. Instead of that he decided it was best to switch and change the subject but Levi was already moving on which he was grateful for anyway.

"Ah, don't worry about them. It's fine if you have it, they can find their own food just fine." They probably wouldn't appreciate it anyway and as said before he didn't want Levi to be ended up being used as he found himself. A small and stressed smile pulled at his liquor stained lips as he looked away from the other canine, tail lightly brushing against the sands. A healer? He would't exactly call himself that but he supposed it was a good enough title to express what he did around the Pitt. "I suppose you can call me that. I do what I can when injuries arrive. Most of my learning came from past wounds I had acquired." It was no big deal really and he understood that he had to stay alive, struggle and rise. Turning his gaze on Levi he gave a single nod of his head as he pushed the rabbit back to him. Lifting his tail he flicked it to the side toward a small oasis of thick trees around a source of water they could no longer drink. "Come then. I'll look you over and we can talk for a bit." From there he started to make his way over to the area, sand shifting to soft grass underneath his pass as he slowly sank to his haunches.

Only one person throughout his entire life cared about his safety: His brother. Out of the two, Levi was the more quiet and laid back type, whereas his brother had the energy of a caffeinated squirrel with a bad attitude. Lecter was much more sinister than Levi in the long run, but the two brothers always found common ground with one another. That was, until Levi stood up for a innocent child his brother decided to beat half to death. It had been a reality check for him, and for the better. In the eyes of Reyes, Levi was immortal and could kill anything just by looking at them. Even so, Levi was not immortal and always lost a piece of himself with every innocent life he took. During the end of his war-ridden days had he begun to spare lives, only to return home and lie they were dead. Being who he was, no one thought to question it. "Rather kind of you."

He looked down to the rabbit for brief moment. Levi was not exactly hungry from the start, but he simply wanted an  excuse to stretch his legs. Chasing rabbits would do just that, though not being hurt would be helpful. "I see." With as many wounds as he had throughout his life, one would think Levi would know a few things about herbs. The truth was, he knew next to nothing about them. The healer life was not for him, though he had thought sometimes that he should learn just as a precaution. The dog gave a slight nod of his head before starting off after the other.
