She wasn't exactly tasty prey, to be honest. While her blood looked and smelt normal, it was poisonous when ingested, toxicity varying on the amount consumed. Besides, her flesh didn't taste too good either, very sour and bitter all in one. Well, that's what happens when you're a mutated frog hybrid. You're all kinds of fucked up, then.

Tsuyu had been playing pretend dead outside of the Ascendants territory, purposely and skillfully slowing her heartrate down to a mellow thump. Her body was covered in cuts, purposely made by herself to attract people to the smell of her.

This was going to be fun.

But then there would be no fun within it, no need for such measures when one had gathered the prior knowledge, the number of those who found it necessary to ingest blood rather public knowledge. Such was their downfall, those amongst them deemed vampires, forced to drink from others to sustain their own bodies at the expense of others, following instincts forced upon them.

He could not say when he had last had anything, child still he was prone to moments of forgetfulness – or it might have been mere want to not harm another, a quality lacking in the one who sought another, left discarded as though brought low by some unforeseen force. Within the trees the child looked upon her, confusion mingling with worry across dark features, wondering as to whether she was alive. It did not matter how hard he strained he could not hear her heart, but then, with the distance separating them, it seemed unlikely he would do so if it proved strong.

“H...hello...?” Rasping tone rose, tremble behind it as small paws shuffled through the leaf litter, looking over her. Odd was the green colouration she bore but the crimson, none dried though the rate of her heart had slowed the trickle of blood. Across his lips tongue swiped, faint groan escaping as he took a few steps closer. It proved fruitless, each attempt to keep back, to check upon her, only drawing him back, gaze moving over each cut.

Shaking paw gently pushed against her shoulder, feeling no movement for a time, seconds ticking away. Finally he leaned down, unsure now as memory surfaced, remembering the scrap of teeth along his throat, buried deep as it tore through skin and muscle, seeking his own blood. Shallow was the break he made, but enough. He was able to take only a mouthful of blood before he was stumbling back, gagging as it filled his throat, heavy and cloying, a taste which burned as it wormed its way into his stomach.

For only a second longer could Harland keep himself standing, shaking before his legs buckled, muscles seizing as the fire worked through him, whimper pulled from bloodied lips. Everything hurt but he couldn't more, left sprawled close by Tsuyu, jaws locked tight so he could offer only sounds of agony.

"Oh, you stupid child.." Tsuyu croaked softly as blood dripped from her throat, sticky and crimson in color. She didn't think someone would actually come along, to be exact. She thought he'd figure her out, but obviously not. Were all kids this stupid?

Slowly, the toxic-blooded frog hybrid sat up, a sadistic glimmer in dead charcoal irises. She'd get her revenge here.. She'd ruin everyone. The weak, mostly. "Tell me.. How long do you think you'll be paralyzed? Oh- right.. You can't speak.. Poor paralyzed vocal chords, ribbit." Tsuyu croaked, moving closer to the child to smooth a webbed paw over the boy's sides, testing how fragile his legs are. Then, she glanced around her. There were plenty of plants around her, she could drain the water from them and make a sharp weapon out of it..

Tsuyu's paws moved up a bit, claws trying to dig in the boy's hips for better grip. "No yelling.. Wouldn't want to die, would you?"[/u] Tsu threatened, her tongue drawing over her lips as she began to absorb water rapidly from the plants around her, the water soon shaping and molding itself into a sharpened axe-like weapon of ice after freezing itself.

This would be fun.

Each attempt did little more than make him twitch, tail shifting across the grass or a tiny shift of  paw, his body fighting against the toxic substance he had ingested. There was few sources he willingly took from, a select few willing to give themself to him when it proved necessary, the sharp press of bone clear even though the thickness of his fur, or the stockpile hidden deep within the observatory. It had been idiotic to believe her dead, allow his instincts to rise and take control, but he had fallen for it all too easily, unused to this state of being.

Sharp whine escaped him once more, jaw pressed against the ground, muffling the sound. There was nothing he could do but watch, frantic gaze following the movement of the hybrid, tracking her as she rose. A muscle within his cheek jumped, thoughts clouded by the haze of pain yet still he felt it, the movement of a paw, or at least such was all he could call it, moving along his side. Indeed the child was fragile, the bone beneath proved almost brittle, barely sustained and growing worse, skin almost wrapped around the structure of his hips and legs.

There was no response when claws found purchase, tore through skin and muscle. His body had given in, the minimal reserves of energy he had to draw from depleted, left at a point there was nothing left. Muscle was left lax, giving no resistance until he seemed nothing more than a body, life gone though the golden eyes were wide, shimmering with tears he was unable to shed.
