Bastille didn't quite miss Monday, though he did skip over the morning entirely and settle for a night time meeting instead, because... Well. Simply because he could, and why not? [b]"Meeting time," he called from the Observatory, at least seeming to be slightly more engaged in what the fuck he was doing this week. Maybe he'd gotten more sleep. Who knows. "First off, back to greeting our newcomers. I know I skipped over a fuckload of you in the past, so sorry, but we're going to resume the niceties. So... Newcomers this week, more or less: Brynhild, Bugsy, Ringo, Edelweiss, Junior, Empyrah, Tristezza, Stella, Nakir, and Desperado. Welcome to all of you, and welcome back to Gabe."
He was fairly certain he hadn't skipped over any foreign names, but he supposed it was likely. There was a pause as if to check that no one else threw in a name he missed, before he carried on, "Right. So, old news: we're still trying to figure out what the fuck happened to Roy. We've got a lead in Sunhaven, more or less, but nothing is confirmed. Riza, you're on probation for the week the shit you pulled on the border — no leaving the Observatory without another Observer with you to make sure you don't lose your goddamn shit again. No leaving the territory, even with an escort, or don't come back. Cool? Cool. I'll be meeting with Monroe again to talk about their would-be murderer over there, but until we know for sure who did this, I still want everyone patrolling in pairs on the borders in case the murderer is still other there. New news: Snowbound invited us to their festival. Go be social. Remember, it counts towards an Odyssey title."
He yawned. "Speaking of events... We've fallen behind, majorly. I know I've kicked around the ambassador program every meeting for a while now to find someone to deal with it, so we've been in a bit of limbo, but it's time to get our shit together again. Zjarr, you've offered a few times now, so consider yourself the new head of ambassadors. You'll take the Foreign Relations specialization as Cosmic General." Maybe he would be nicer to let his newest Generals actually pick, but eh. Nah. "Round up interested parties and get some new ambassador assignments going, send them out into the world to introduce themselves, throw raging parties in celebration for the end of our hermit life-style, whatever.
"Moon, find me some more Clerics. Peri, you're back to Cleric; keep Moon in check. Onision, Thea — I'm taking both of you shits off of promotion probation on the requirement that you have to come to my additional lessons. If you complain, you're demoted again. You two will be well-mannered children. Oni, Lieutenant. Thea, Roman, Har — Starstruck Guardians. Speaking of ranks... Given our current size, I'm temporarily retiring the Halo and Kuiper Corporal ranks; we don't have the numbers to fill them let alone justify them at the moment, so if we need them again later, we'll bring them back later. Presumably both will be represented within the Guardian role for now."
Bastille paused briefly, as if to make sure the change sank in, before carrying on, "Anyway. Clearly, we've had enough changes that our prior buddy groups are absolutely void now. Those of you who have no idea what the fuck that means, check in with your group leader — they should know and will start running through their tasks with you this week, unless they suck, in which case let me know and I'll rearrange your group. So, new assignments:
In category A, my group will consist of Desperado and Danyla. Moon and Alex will have Nakir and Feyre. Thea and Peri will have Stella and Lazarus.
In category B, Hazel and Oni will have Winterwolf and Gabe. Harland and Bub will have Bryn and Ringo. Zjarr and Dory will have Tristezza and Hyoyeon.
In category C, Roman will have Bugsy and Junior. Riza will have Empyrah and Edelweiss."
Bastille ran through the assignments in his head before adding, "If I missed you, let me know and I'll throw in a group. Otherwise, group leaders need to start meeting with their buddies and getting their tasks finished, particularly for those of you with recent newcomers who need to learn this shit. Remember that tasks can be found here."
A longer pause. "Right, so, if no one here wants to host weekly tasks this week, I'll be getting those up with the September ceremonies tomorrow. Meeting dismissed."
