DEVELOPMENT STUDY

crackerjacker is given a totem --

"this time when she fished the object out of her large basket, it had nothing fancy on the top of it - but that didn't mean it was anything less than [the other tribe member's]. no, the dark brown wood had been carefully carved to be longer and thicker [...]. intricate designs decorated the surface; stars within circles, triangles creating patterns, circles falling over the edges of stars. many more small designs spotted across the wood but the largest one was the star that covered the flat bottom and top of the totem. they were carved loud, deep, and proud. she had made this to symbolise the leadership and calm knowledge she saw in him."

notes: jack had found an irony in this as he would never see himself as a leader. despite that, he still kept the toem as a piece of memory.

crackerjacker betrays his king --

notes: since this event, jack's humorous facade has since slipped. he still upholds his dark humor and grumpiness, but the darkness that shrouds him is more apparent than before.
