Under normal circumstances, Shining would have been able to keep track of what was going on around him. Who was speaking, what was said, remember most of it later on... He was, however, quite far from his normal state of mind. The tom lay off to the side, covered in bandages due to the work of some medics. His attention remained not on the current speaker, who rattled away at the news from atop of a platform, overlooking the crowd. No, Shining's gaze became captured by... flowers.

The colorful things were indeed better to look at in the light. His off-colored eyes focused on the indoor garden display, seemingly not caring about the meeting whatsoever. Or maybe he didn't realize it was going on behind him. Whatever the case, Shine didn't really move, aside from his breathing and occasional odd muttering under his breath.

do you believe you could change me? the way i changed you.

It had been a while since Roman had been to a meeting, a good meeting that had useful information in it. The last meeting he had been to, if he remembered correctly was something along the lines of "we're doing good, keep it up, okay bye" if he was in charge at that time he wouldn't have even held a meeting, or he would have made something happen to make it so that one would have been held so that something more useful would have been able to be said. Though the mention of those that were new was a nice touch to what was being said, something that he had never heard before, made others feel included and more likely to stay if they were feeling left out or suspicious thus far. It wasn't as if he was having reservations at all, but others could have been.

Listening to the rest of the words being spoken, Roman would nod his head slightly at some of the things that pertained to him, the Starpool trip and the ambassador program being two of them. He was interested in both of those things. In the past, he had usually been a pretty friendly individual that would travel and try to make friends with everyone on earth, and although he hadn't been that feline in a very long time - he had been a member of a group of murderous rogues for a couple of moons, after all - he still did like to travel and see what was out there, and could still be friendly if need-be. Could still be someone that talked to others and was diplomatic.

When he heard his name in the shoutouts, ear would prick and eyes would look up to Bast, watching the other for a moment before his head nod once more. He didn't have much to say, there wasn't much to say to a shout out really. It wasn't a promotion or anything, no need to thank the other male, and besides, this wasn't the Bastille that he knew.

    And the sky was littered
    with the corpses of stars,

He tried his best not to loo over all the others but of course this was something of a monumental effort given most were small felines or canines and he was just well - he was more a giant.

still Anz sat quietly, ears flickking forward at the mention of his name as he looked up with surprise before nodding firmly to Bast "My thanks" for the promotion - starstruck guardian yes? a new bead for the pendant necklace he'd acquired here - and a follow up rumble of congratulations and welcome to the others mentioned.

/Thank you! and congrats and welcomes to those promoted and joining us! c:

[font=trebuchet ms]Ah, she was late. Leaving her bag within the cleric's hide, Rin hurried over to the crowd in the Grand Circle, taking a seat behind Suiteheart and watching Bastille. Luckily, she had been in time to hear him announce the myriad of newcomers, some of which she had already met, some of which she hadn't. "Welcome, everyone," she chimed in, glancing around at the ones that she recognized.

Next were social events, ambassador duties, and weekly tasks. She probably ought to do at least one of the three- maybe she'd catch a weekly task after the meeting. At the mention of cliques, she nodded. She probably ought to be doing a better job with handling all the newcomers, not just the ones who had gone for the Halo tryouts.

Then, of course, came promotions and titles. All of them were very much deserved; most of them were pulling their weight and then some. "Congratulations on the promotions," Rin offered, twitching her ears. With that, the meeting was over, so she retreated back to the cleric's hide, and offered Shininglight a nod along the way. Not that he was likely to notice, as enraptured by the flowers as he was, but the sentiment was the same.
