So there was a large influx of joiners. Amazing. See. Problem. Numero uno. Was that. They're all shut in introverts that are probably plotting their deaths (mourn more than most, she's noticed). Even Cry herself was always bad at talking. She never liked growing close to people and creating bonds and relationships. She normally just stayed pinned to her brothers side except...
...
he wasn't here.
.........
The raven inhaled, held it in her lungs until they ached, and exhaled. she stared down at the snow. He would have loved snow. Would have said something like "It's just frozen water, Key! It's incredible how do you think it got that cold??" His eyes were always so wide and full of wonder. Everything was a fun new experience for him. It made her wonder how much Snowbound would absolutely love Synthesis. She tilted her neck. He would definitely fit in. He was always a sweet little guy. He'd keep people smiling, at least. And then... Maybe she'd be there to protect him.
She wondered if those embers finally ate his soul.
She swallowed her sorrow down, shaking her head. This was supposed to be happy. Time to get to work. She lifted a frigid lump of snow into her wings, crushing it under her weak bones until it resembled an egg shape. There. Snowball. Tell her otherwise. ... Her tail feathers flicked. About five hundred to go. She sighed. This would take a while.
A little while later, she had made about eight piles of snowballs. She smiled at her work, flicking the left over shattered snowflakes off her feathers. Hiding her shiver, she opened her wings, smiling at the small crowd in the middle of town. Battle Royal! she called out, Make alliances! Destroy your enemies! She called it a social experiment. How many would actually end up participating? She didn't know.
