SOMETIMES I SLEEP ALL DAY - ꧂

    he caved in and let those kids do it. he was sitting there letting them braid his mane. tying it with small string. he closed his eyes as they worked. weaving flowers into braids and making many more. it took most of the day, but he was soon free. opening his eyes, he would rise to his paws and nod to the grinning kids.

he would get up and walk over to the nearest puddle. gazing at his mane and nodding. thank you. it looks great.

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── he wasn't a children person so he would never understand why night of no stars would just sit there and let children fawn all over his mane. it seemed so tedious, so tiring to have squabbling younglings fuss over you for hours - he had watched when they started, left to hunt, and returned to them still decorating. as the other padded over to a puddle the lion joined him. "don't know why you let them do that." he mused quietly so they couldn't hear him. "isn't it annoying to have them tug on your mane?" his own had grown out quite nicely and was already making the small ring around his neck.

"Trying to look good for someone?" Kold mused, walking up to her brother and the other feline. Night, as far as she knew, liked someone. She didn't quite place who it was, but that wasn't her business. There was a teasing grin on her face as she shook her head. Her fur was too short to braid, and even so, she didn't need more rumors.

    the voice made him look up at asmodeus. the younger lion gained a soft chuff of amusement from him. i let them do it to keep them out of trouble. plus, less work to groom myself. they clean it nicely before they work. he answered before shifting his body to face the other. i had a baby sister that tugged on my mane for a long time. so, it doesn't bother me.

he paused as kold asked him a question and he felt heat wash his pelt. that obvious, huh? i was hoping to go see them today, if they were not busy. he admits with a slight hint of embarrassment in his voice. he thought he was good at hiding such things.
