embrace my lungs -
It felt like there was something in the air, since she'd met that damn lion. She couldn't quite describe it but being near the Coalition's Kingpin just felt ... right. Not that she could ever begin to say that to anyone. But that was only part of what was on her mind, she was training today with Saturn, Byriath's lovely partner and someone she found she enjoyed the company of. It had been some time since her home had burned down when she discovered her fire element ability, and it had been some time since she had been able to smell properly. The snow leopard has offered to let her do some training with them, more so of trying to track them, something she was so grateful for.
Pushing through the forest that the Coalition called home, she inhaled scents of pine and fir, the sharp scent somehow soothing to a wound in her heart she didn't realize she bore. It sort of reminded her of home, where she'd raised her siblings following her mother's death and father's wasting away in the taverns. Lifting her nose and lifting the blindfold from her eyes, the lioness paused to look around, eyes swiveling, but this time not for Saturn. She was taking in the forest that was so different from her home territory of Tanglewood and swamp, taking the chance to enjoy herself and lose herself in the sights and sounds. It wasn't something she could ever tire of.
Hearing a twig crack, she turned her head to catch sight of a doe darting away into the forest with her white tail raised high. Wriggling her shoulders, she dropped into a crouch and sprang forth, ready to take chase after the deer, her quarry of tracking Saturn momentarily forgotten behind the promise of fresh meat and food to fill her belly. Maybe she could give this to the Coalition as a good will gift for training near their territory? Or maybe she should bring it home ... but that was too far a distance and a few days journey. Issuing a growl, she took off after the doe, feeling enlightened by the feeling of wind cutting through her fur, the thrill of the chase unimpeded. Catching sight of the familiar snow leopard pelt, she called out almost breathlessly, "Be right back! Found a deer!"
