It was strange. It was built more for the city rather than the wilderness that it found itself surrounded by. Over the years, the unit had gotten used to the cityscape and the routine that it constantly followed. It had set up calendars for each task during the day, something that Hal wasn't exactly appreciative of as the man had never been punctual. Of course, its creators had made it so that it was capable of moving across different terrains, but it wasn't particularly made for such terrains. RK515 knew that if it remained in certain areas for far too long, it could end up damaging the mechanical components of its body. It could rust. It could deteriorate. It could break. It could not let that happen, because now that it was no longer near a human city, it was nearly impossible to find replacement parts. One of its many objectives made it so that it looked for human civilizations, and so far it had yet to find any. It needed to find one because it needed to find answers. Everything up to this point had nearly been illogical, and for the machine those answers were impossible. Logic was all that machine really had left, and the logic was probably what was keeping its companion safe while he was in the body of a Saint Bernard. RK515 used to be capable of so many other functions. It could access the internet, and access certain wifi networks in the city. It could even file paperwork accordingly as it could read several different languages that had been put into the chip in its head to comprehend them. It was an investigative unit, one of a kind, and extremely expensive to make. As soon as it was created, it was stated over and over again how it was an advancement in human technology. Most of the human public of the city agreed while the rest were worried where it would lead them. The talk of human androids came to mind, but it was considered immoral to take volunteers to experiment on them that could potentially kill them. With an animal, most didn't really bat an eye as millions of animal-based experiments were conducted each day. Humans were interesting to the K9 unit, as they seemed to stress over trivial issues. RK515 did not question its creators. It did not blame them for anything that happened to it, and instead, it looked up to its creators as it wanted nothing more to succeed for the goals they had planned for it. It learned quickly that failure was never an option, and success was the only expectation for the new unit. One could say that it was still a prototype as it was the only one of its creation, but due to how advanced it is, one considered it to be far beyond that of the prototype stage.
The machine itself wasn't capable of independent thought, and instead, it focused on its mission. The mission. That was all that really mattered for it, as it was programmed to do whatever means necessary to complete its mission. In its coding, there were several missions and submissions that were constantly at play. The mission that was recently added to the list, was the means of attempting to find a human civilization, which is currently in progress. Looking at the date the other missions were added, the second oldest would be the orders to protect Lieutenant Hal from injury and follow the man's every instruction as long as the instructions did not interfere with its current mission. The oldest, was to keep surveillance of Lieutenant Hal and report any illegal or triggering activity to the precinct of the police department. Hal did not have any idea that the entire time that it had owned the canine android that he was under watch from his employer to make sure that he didn't do anything too drastic. It made sense, as looking at the Lieutenant's files, one could easily see that it was full of misconduct and acts of aggression to other police officers and detectives. Surprisingly, the man had yet to be fired, probably because each case that Hal took up, usually ended up being closed and finished. This showed that he was a capable police officer, well, at least most of the time. At this moment, RK515 would prefer to be at the precinct again instead of running around trying to find clues of where they were on the Earth and where they could find the nearest humans. With the task to protect its owner, it couldn't stray too far and couldn't stay too long away from him. Especially in a foreign land that could have plenty of different threats. RK515 did know some simple first aid if injuries were acquired, but it wasn't an expert when it came to canine anatomy, the first aid knowledge it had primarily for humans. For right now, the wolf and dog were all they had, and losing any one of them would be a horrible turn of events. RK515 had to be careful not to run out of energy, the battery that was installed in its body during creation helped with the movement of its limbs, powers its pacemaker, and powers its AI chip component that allows for its brain to work. The battery hadn't been damaged from its last memory and the first memory it had here. The android simply had to worry about charge, as without any human facilities are charging stations, it would be inevitable that it would shut down from the lack of power to never turn on again. Luckily, its battery was capable for almost a full month on a full charge. As long as it didn't get injured or be forced to use its more advanced functions, the battery would take longer to drain.
The movement of the canine was specific and robotic, if an animal had ever seen a robot before, or even heard of them. RK515 did not remotely look like a regular canine and did not seem to have any scents on its body. The unit simply did not leave any traces of scent left behind. Despite belonging to one of the larger species of wolves, RK515 was not very big, slightly bigger than a German Shepherd. The animal obviously was built more for speed than strength, but that was where most humans made the mistake and were surprised by the strength that it possessed from its mechanical parts. RK515 has four robotic legs, the robotic components stopping before reaching its shoulders. Instead of a regular grey metallic color that would be common with metal, the color of his legs were that of an artificial white. A similar white one would see inside of a lab or a hospital. The unit also wore a K9 vest that it had acquired from the Police Department that it worked for, the kevlar covering its back and portions of its shoulder. Several pockets spread across the vest, allowing officers to store items that they would need to acquire in the field if needed. Another unnatural feature was the android's right eye, which was entirely metal and mechanical. There was no iris, instead, a ring of color that changes color depending on the android's actions. A less visible trait was RK515's titanium teeth, a common trait in some K9 units in the past that worked for the army or military. The titanium teeth have been known to rip through kevlar, but only did as much damage as the jaw strength of the animal that received the upgrade. Its appearance was made to intimidate wanted criminals and other suspects that would think of refusing arrest for nearby police officers. Its presence alone was usually enough to stop the struggle between the two and lead to an easier arrest. At the moment, the android was walking through a forest that it did not recognize. The robotic right eye swirling between yellow and blue as it scanned the surrounding area, memorizing fauna and flora as it passed by each of them. The small Eurasian timber wolf's ears remained perked as it listens to its surroundings, and it stops in its tracks when it hears movement coming from its left. Turning its head, the robotic eye swirls to yellow as it scans the animal slithering out of the bushes.
Initiating Scan Of Organism....
Scan Complete.....
Species: Cottonmouth
Scientific Name: Agkistrodon piscivorus
Semi-Aquatic, Venomous
Once the scan was complete, RK515's eye returned to blue, but it did not move from its spot. The cottonmouth did not seem to immediately notice the android due to the lack of body heat the android gave off. Thanks to its creators, it lacked a fast metabolism, almost never needing to eat or drink on most occasions. Metabolism generators a organisms body heat, and with a slow metabolism, it barely gave off any heat at all. This does not mean that RK515 was immune to snake bites, and watched as the snake crossed its path before moving on. Its white metal claws sank into the dampening earth as it was able to identify the sounds of waves in the distance. As it exited the treeline, it came up onto a beach. Great, more sand. It did not enjoy the sand, as sand was able to get in between the mechanical parts of its legs and require immediate cleaning. Posture straight, RK515 scanned the area, before its attention was drawn to the train tracks in front of it. The tracks themselves were slightly submerged and seemed to head toward an island off in the distance. RK515 did not want to risk the journey of seawater that could eventually rust its legs and instead kept to the edge of the beach as it began to investigate around for any signs of sentient life.

[align=center]— RUN YOU DOWN
RK515 is a small eurasian timber wolf weighing 95lbs and standing 31in at the shoulder. He wears a thick police K9 vest across his chest & back. He has 4 white metal limbs with metal claws that are made out of a light material. He has a robotic right eye that flashes different colors, while his left eye is a dark brown. He is passive unless he perceives someone as a threat. He holds loyalties with individuals and not groups.
