▹▹▹▹ No matter what culture or group of people you were a part of, festivals and celebrations were always at the heart of it. Traditions, especially, were a matter of importance to many, and for Kit, who had seldom spent this much time with a single group of people since his time as a boy growing up with his parents, it seemed of all the more important now. He hadn't exactly been capable of sneaking around to put everything together, given the scale of everything, but he had managed to put together a long table of food, some crafts for the children, a few games, drinks, and a small crackling hearth with some pieces of paper and a pen, intended to write down wishes for the future, or regrets, to cast them away and begin anew. It was only when everything was done, and he now sat at the side of the table, (reserving the head of the table for Agathe or anyone else who felt it proper to sit there), he looked over the fresh prey and some of the sweets and breads that had been prepared, some with help from the NPCs.

Then, he took a slow breath in as he glanced around, "Gather, for a feast, or for something to occupy yourselves with. Come share what you are thankful for, and spend time with one another," his call was simple, leaving it at that, and those who approached could gather the rest of the context for themselves.

    ATBASH CIPHER
    somebody make me alive,
    and shatter me !
Atbash was mostly here for the last reason, wanting something to occupy herself with. Even so, it wouldn't hurt to join in a tradition. In Snowbound, traditions were held with high regard and Atbash wanted to have the same level of respect for the traditions in her new clan. "Everything looks lovely!" The savannah chirped as she made her way to the table, dipping her head to Atticus before taking a seat. Her charred ear flicked at the mention of sharing what she was thankful for and decided it wouldn't hurt to speak up, "I'm thankful for The Ascendants's hospitality." She began. "After Snowbound was left in flames, I had run here only because you were the only ones I really knew. However, with your aid, I was able to recover and, of course, I decided to join. Thank you." Almost all groups were auto-accepting but even so, they could have suggested that Atbash looked elsewhere or force her to look for her former tribemates and attempt to revive the group. At least, that's how she saw it, anyway.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]Never before had Agathe been posed with such an interesting question. The snow leopardess did not consider herself to be a thankful individual and felt herself scrambling to offer something to Atticus and Atbash. It felt wrong to merely intrude upon this lovely festival without participating anyways, and she hardly wished for something of that nature to, goddess forbid, reflect poorly upon herself. Perhaps she was selfish for only entertaining the idea of thankfulness for the sake of this food, but it was a wholly misunderstood concept to the Astral Seraph. Maybe they knew that. Maybe they did not. Regardless, she tried to model her speech after Atbash's (who, in her opinion, could not be beat when it came to the topic of thankfulness).

"I'm thankful for," Agathe paused only to release a quick, two-note whistle that sent Whitethorn careening down towards her from where he had been moments before, the bird taking its designated place on her shoulder, "This lazy ass." A glimmer of amusement clung oh-so faintly to her words and, if one looked close enough, even the ghost of a smile could be detected upon her usually twisted features. "And the Ascendants," She added after a moment's more of thought, idly taking her place at what she presumed to be her designated seat. She almost cringed after realizing that she was the head of the table, but made no comment. She'd get used to it eventually.

Ah, well. She wasn’t exactly in the mood right now to partake in the talking portion, but thank goodness somebody had put together an easy-access eatery like this, or else Radeken might have wound up wasting away in her room, victim to the tendency to focus too hard on nitpicking and herb-grinding to bother with petty little things like feeding herself and not dying. Juuust stupid little things like that, she thought wryly, finding a place to sit and immediately tucking into something meaty in fromt of her. Rad managed to wolf it down in such little time she must’ve broken some obscure record or other. Sure I did. Nobody’s keeping track. Nobody can say I didn’t. I’m the big winner. She went in for another and her handy-dandy tunnel vision had her wholly convinced, in that moment, that all that existed was that table heaped with food and little old her until the voices of the others cut through. Oh wow, they’re actually talking? This is for real? She licked her chops, swayed enough by the mood-lifting bounty laid out before her that she actually paid some mind to their confessions.

Wow. She eyed a roll, licking her plate clean like some ravenous thing, like she’d been caged in her quarters and left to rot unjustly prior to all this. Radeken got herself that bread without sparing a second thought. “[color=black]M’thankful, food.” She mumbled none-too-eloquently through a full and greedy mouth. No further soul-searching or honestly would be provided that night, not from her. It was food time.

Sybil had partaken in something akin to this back home though it was on a much larger scale, and it was not a warm event where everyone shared their feelings. In her tribe, giving thanks meant sacrificing something, praising the gods, and working harder on one's craft. There was never anything peaceful about it. Everything was chaotic, as the gods intended. Here, everything seemed so much more mellow and carefree. She wasn't sure if she loved it or loathed it, but she surely learned towards the latter.

She took a seat near Radeken and soon wished she hadn't; the other's table manners were lackluster to say the least. The black panther watched the body language of those around her and listened to them speak. Atbash was thankful for the hospitality shown to her by this group. Agathe was thankful for her bird and the Ascendants. Radeken was thankful for the food. But Sybil? Sybil wasn't sure she was thankful for anything.

"What once was and what will be." There. It was short and sweet, and with the help of her telepathic powers, everyone could hear it if they chose to.
